w52.21.1: Repetition

Had a chance to make a quick visit to the Missouri History Museum just before sunset last evening. Spent few minutes taking shots outside the museum and shot this by the entrance to the museum. Interestingly the colors/glow put out by the street light seems to go perfectly with those evening clouds 😉

w52.20.2: Chitchat

Had a chance to visit Oberweis ice cream store (on Sunday) with friends on our way back from the Midwest Music Conservatory after the music recital program. It was a treat for kids for doing a wonderful job during their recital.

I took some quick shots of the kids enjoying their treat and this one in particular turned out really well. I really like the natural flow in this shot of the friends kids (3yr and 4yr old) having a chitchat while enjoying their treat.

Makes me wonder what they’re chatting about 😉

w52.20.1: Midwest Music Conservatory

Had a chance to take some pictures at the Midwest Music Conservatory yesterday while my daughter had her vocal music recital performance there.  Elsewhere on the web, I read this place used to be a  Methodist Church – really enjoyed my shots there. Although they allowed flash photography, I liked non-flash to bring out the colors/lighting/shadows. This was shot handheld 😉

w52.19.1: Symmetry on a wall

Nothing creative for this week 😉

w52.18.1: Picture Me

Had a chance to attend a birthday party and shot this with my P&S camera as my friends were posing for a portrait and another friend was using his mobile phone/camera to shoot their portrait. I call this a Picture-in-Picture 😉

w52:17.1: Watermelon

Another foodie themed shot for week: 17

Unlike my last foodie themed shot (I used 60mm macro lens for that shot), I went with my 50mm prime for this melon shot and overall satisfied with this composition.

w52.16.3: All Aboard!

Visit to the St. Louis zoo isn’t complete without the ride on their zooline train 😉

Shot this as we were waiting on the train car for the folks to join us on the ride.

w52.16.2: Girls in Pink

Another gorgeous day in St. Louis and we decided to make use of this wonderful weather by visiting the St. Louis Zoo.

I decided to go with my Craigslist bought Nikon 28mm pancake lens for this visit. It took me a while to get used to this manual E series lens but started liking it once I got the hang of this lens.

As we were entering the River’s Edge area, my wife and kids were walking past this pink bloom and I had to stop few seconds to get this composition.

w52.16.1: Game Boy

Time flies when you’re busy..that’s seems to be the case these days. I don’t have visited the blogs that I’ve been following regularly and my Google Reader seems to be filling up quickly 😉

Had a chance to visit a friend yesterday and shot his son engrossed in his game boy during my visit. Used window lighting for this quick shot.

w52.15.1: Tandoori Salmon

Read that as tandoori marinated salmon…

It’s been quite some time now since my last foodie related shot for my w52 project. I really like spending time on foodie themed shot(s), but it takes some time setting up the food/subject for the shoot and by the time I got it all setup and ready to shoot, someone is already hungry at home 🙂

Overall I am a tad bit satisfied with this shot – with 60mm macro, this shot ended up as a macro..may be next time I have to stick to my 50mm prime for foodie shot(s).
