Photo 365: Day 118 – What’s for dinner?
That’s white corn & black bean salad. That was for dinner 😉
Food photography – that is something I’m really interested in besides macro, flower, and portrait photography. But I always struggle with food photography. I am not good at setting up the table for this kind of work. When I go back and look at my food photography pictures from the past, I feel they are flat !
May be I should take that as a challenge and do more food photography.
Feel free to add in your suggestion for food photography.
This is a good shot! It looks yummy to me!
I enjoy food photography. I did some for a local burger joint that has had a very good response. They put big posters of the photos up on their wall, and I’m hearing about it all over the place! Here’s one set of the shots – this set includes a pull-back of my setup. http://www.flickr.com/photos/alifeofjoy/sets/72157623422388406/
Thanks Elli. Those pictures are awesome!
That looks delicious! I struggle with capturing food, but I think the most important thing when one is starting out is getting as much natural light as possible. Also I think if you wanted to get more ideas, you could look through cookbooks or magazines that have beautiful food photos. Martha Stewart, perhaps?
I really like taking photos of my food too. 🙂 I tend to call my food photography “Good food, bad photo” But it looks like you have the skill to take good food good photography. Looks yummy
This one does not look flat. In fact, you’ve made it look delicious. And that’s not a good thing when I’m hungry.
I find it hard to know how to set up the scene, myself.
yes looks very tasty. photographically speaking its a great shot, very natural with the bruised herbs and it looks like it is going to get eaten. Much of the magazine photography looks more glossy and too perfect to be believeable.
