Photo 365: Day 152 – Soft focus
For today’s photo post(s) I used a soft focus filter to create a dream-like effect on these cherries. As it was too bright and I didn’t have a neutral density filter to bring down the light, used a polarizer filer – as I know it brings down the light by 2 f:stops. Had to use a white reflector board to lighten up the shadows.
There is one more photo post for day 152 –> here.
Don’t forget to add your photo post to Twitter Tuesday.
I may have to play with a soft focus filter sometime. Neat shot.
I like how you captured the water droplets.
This one is awesome! I’ll have to try that sometime
Nice capture. I’ve never tried a soft focus filter. Just might have to.
I like it! Makes me a little dizzy if I stare at it to long. 🙂
Cool effect, but I like the other one more, because here the white is a bit to bright for my eyes 🙂
I love black cherries. I’m a huge watermelon lover but these come so close it’s hard to choose. This is an interesting shot as well. I think I like the broccoli better. The focus doesn’t work as well here — just in my opinion.
Nice work! I am always inspired by how you try new and different things!
I prefer this one to the broccoli because the subject is simpler (broccoli is more detailed in itself) and it lets the soft focus be the central thing. Fun idea!!
I love the simplicity of this shot and the soft focus is a nice twist. Have you tried the Lensbaby? It is perfect for this type of thing and is great fun.
I haven’t tried Lensbaby yet. But based on your photo posts and James Berghout’ posts, it sounds like a fun toy.
great technique, thanks for sharing how you did
That’s gorgeous!! Thank you so much for sharing how you did it!!!
