Photo 365: Day 335 – Portrait

Now that there is limited light available, decided to do something with real low light last night – yes; this was shot last night after I posted my shot for day:334

I got inspired for doing portraits after looking at some of the portrait work by Brhum’ Bhatia – he does an awesome job with portraits.

Anyway, talked to my wife about posing for this shot and she was readily willing…I haven’t done a portrait shot of her for quite some time now.

So had this shot with a single light source – that being from an iTouch app iLlumination. For this shot, I had to set the focus right with the lights ON. Once I had the focus set, I took this shot with my wife’s face lit by iTouch @f/4.5 for 2.0 sec exposure.

My daughter was a great helper for this shot as well. She was the “light” girl last night. By the end of this shoot she whispered, “Oh I don’t mind if you gave me the credit in your blog post”. That made me chuckle – last week she was debating how she doesn’t like getting a credit. She is another regular in-house visitor to my blog post.

I usually like to say something insightful in my comments to make it clear how I feel about what I am seeing. In this case I all I can say is “great shot!” You are a master of lighting as can be seen from this superb departure from your norm. Nicely done.

This is a beautiful image of a beautiful woman. What a great tribute and your daughter is just amazing. You’ve managed to get yourself an assistant and who knows someday she might just decide to follow suit and be the best photog ever. Sasi, you should be so proud of yourself. You’ve done a great job with your project.

Beautiful image of your wife. I can see where your daughter got her good looks 😉 It is nice when a project involves the family. It’s what great memories are made of. 🙂
