Looking up…
As much as I like to shoot flowers in their natural settings, there are times when I need more control on POV/lighting – read that as “pluck” the blooms…LOL
It’s one of those days and had to gently pluck this daffodil for this indoor shot. Shot this by placing the daffodil close to the window and went for a low POV. It was a bit cloudy when I shot this and the background turned our as I wanted.
Now the bloom sits on a vase in our counter top, besides being a good sport for this shoot 🙂
And those grains…call me silly or egghead – had to bump the ISO for my earlier shot and never realized to change it back until I had this downloaded.
Interesting shot Sasi, I like the black and white treatment! To be honest, combined with the B&W, the extra grain actually adds to the image in my opinion, rather than being a drawback. Sort of gives the flower a see through appearance. Very nice!
I love this! I would totally frame this and hang it on my wall right now. What you think you did wrong in this photo…makes it exquisite!
Love this shot. The grain works because of the black and white treatment but I also like what the window light has done for this daffodil – it made it translucent.
Sasi, we captured the same subject today. I really like the look of yours. The different tones make it so great. It’s neat when a mistake isn’t an accident after all!
This is a great shot. Very odd to have turned such a beautiful strongly coloured flower black and white but, it does work very well.
Come on Sasi, you can take a break now. Produce something mediocre for a change. Its not kind to the rest of us when you keep knocking out these great shots every day 🙂
Seriously though, it is a great shot. Like Bonny said, definitely one that is perfect from framing and hanging on the wall. And repeat after me: Grain is Good (sometimes) 🙂
