Photo 365: Day 343 – Long Exposure
To be honest this was shot last night…
Had this shot @f/11 for 30sec exposure.

And my low light experiment continues…
Surprisingly we had a nice weather today and we took it as an opportunity to put some Christmas lighting this evening. So thought I should try few low light shots late this evening.
With my 50mm f/1.4 lens tried some bokeh shots and I thought it came out real nice.
Another quick one…
My little one was a good sport this evening. He was willing to share his Peeps for this shot and also willing to pose. But I have to be really quick though 😉
Ornaments ready to be hung.
Another day with lack of inspiration. I wonder if it has to do with the cold weather and lack of sunlight…
Will have to see what tomorrow brings. How’s your day been?
Bought this little T-Rex toy for $1.00 at Walmart on Saturday.
When I bought this, I had in mind to try spot lighting/shot with this little guy but thought I should try a silhouette for today’s post.
I’m pretty pleased with the outcome this evening – spent only a couple of minutes on this shot. Besides converting from RAW to JPEG there wasn’t any PP involved.
With sweet potatoes hitting 0.10/lb decided to try the Casual Kitchen’s – Groundnut Stew.
This soup turned out really yummy after some minor tweaks to the recipe 😉
For this shot, I decided to go with the top/down POV. Added sweet potato, and cabbage to this composition as these are the key ingredients in this frugal soup.
Brrr…another windy, and cold day here in St. Louis. And day:336 shot to depict the weather in our area.
Now that there is limited light available, decided to do something with real low light last night – yes; this was shot last night after I posted my shot for day:334
I got inspired for doing portraits after looking at some of the portrait work by Brhum’ Bhatia – he does an awesome job with portraits.
Anyway, talked to my wife about posing for this shot and she was readily willing…I haven’t done a portrait shot of her for quite some time now.
So had this shot with a single light source – that being from an iTouch app iLlumination. For this shot, I had to set the focus right with the lights ON. Once I had the focus set, I took this shot with my wife’s face lit by iTouch @f/4.5 for 2.0 sec exposure.
My daughter was a great helper for this shot as well. She was the “light” girl last night. By the end of this shoot she whispered, “Oh I don’t mind if you gave me the credit in your blog post”. That made me chuckle – last week she was debating how she doesn’t like getting a credit. She is another regular in-house visitor to my blog post.
Another quick one for day:334
Got back from work and surprisingly there was still natural light available (although it was barely there)…so quickly had to set my camera on my tripod to shoot this symmetry/monotone shot of our plantain tree leaf.
Had this shot @f/8.0 for 2.5 sec exposure.
