Photo 365: Day 231 – TDS: High POV

Todays daily shoot assignment: Make a photograph from a high point of view. Get on top of a building, use a ladder, or just look down at a small object.

Portrait with high POV is my response for TDS: High POV assignment.

Another shot of my little one. Used window lighting for this shot. Since it was a bit late this evening when I shot this, had to bump up the ISO to 800 and use shallow DOF. Shot this using 50mm prime in RAW mode.

Used Coffeeshop’s creamy chocolate PS action for PP.

Photo 365: Day 230 – TDS: Shallow DOF

Todays daily shoot assignment: Make a photograph with a shallow depth of field today. Get in close if you need to force it with the lens you have.

I decided to use my 50mm prime @f/1.4 for todays assignment.

That’s my little boy watching cars passing by as we sat in our front porch this evening. It was quite hard to have him sit in one spot as he was excited by something or the other 😉

Photo 365: Day 229 – TDS: Something edible

Todays daily shoot assignment: Make a photograph of something you eat today. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, or snack. Make it look tasty.

Had a chance to try potato straws that we had bought from Costco last week. That was the snack for this evening and the subject for TDS assignment.

It was definitely tasty but not sure if I had shot this to look tasty 😉

Photo 365: Day 228 – Triangle (bonus picture)

I was going through some pictures from last week and I missed posting this shot. I shot this last week during my visit to Chicago.

I like the “angles” and lovely blue sky with dense clouds.

Photo 365: Day 228 – Bokeh

Not much inspiration for today. Took few pictures in the backyard this evening and didn’t like the way they turned out.

So this is a shot I took yesterday while returning back from the park. As we were waiting for the signal to turn green, shot this bokeh. Those red spots on the top are the red signal and those on the bottom are from the headlights of the oncoming cars.

Photo 365: Day 227 – TDS: Sign

Todays daily shoot assignment: Make a photograph that features a sign of some sort today. Maybe a stop sign. Maybe an information sign. Or an advert.

Had a chance to take my son to Faust park this evening (which is next to the Butterfly house). Before taking my little one to the play area took this shot for TDS assignment.

Today is Twitter Tuesday.

Photo 365: Day 226 – TDS: Plant

Todays daily shoot assignment: Make a photograph of a plant today. It can be a small one in a pot, a big one in the park, or a tree in a forest.

That’s a shot of our bell pepper plant in a container. Our container vegetable gardening plants didn’t do very well this year. I am guessing the containers were too shallow for these plants.

Perhaps next year we will plan on doing our vegetable garden in our backyard.

Photo 365: Day 225 – TDS: Strong shadows

Todays daily shoot assignment: Make a photograph using hard light today. Feature the crisp and strong shadows as a major element of your photograph.

You could call this shot as “The return of the gnome” 😉

I really like the strong shadows in this shot. The shadow seems to be of a witch – it would have looked much better if I had shot this at a different time, so that I could have caught long shadows.

Photo 365: Day 224 – TDS:Motion Blur

Todays daily shoot assignment: Make a photograph with motion blur today. Use a fast moving subject or a slow shutter speed can do the trick.

Fast moving subject: That would be my little boy on his Radio Flyer tricycle 😉

Photo 365: Day 223 – TDS:Wide focal length

Todays daily shoot assignment: Make a photograph using wide focal length. Zoom or prime or iPhone cameras all qualify for going wide today.

Decided to use Sigma 17-70mm at it’s wide end for this assignment.

To make this assignment shot interesting/fun used my little boy’s happy meal toy as the subject. It’s another backyard shot with low POV – I picked that technique from an earlier TDS assignment.
