Home Remedy
I am feeling under the weather today and had to drink my concoction made of apple cider vinegar and honey.
May be it’s just about to time to get into exercise routine and ward off sickness 😉

Shot this on a chilly evening.
As I was looking for mounds or such to shoot snow, what all I could find was snow on a flat surface.
Then I thought may be I should add some contrasting subject in this composition to bring in some interest. I did find a snow cone but rather found it flat for this composition. So I rummaged through our pantry and found a jar of sugar laden maraschino cherries that have not seen the daylight for a while 😉
So that’s how I ended up putting the maraschino cherry to use for this shoot.
Then I found it to be flat when I downloaded the picture to my desktop. So had to add a tad bit of edge burn to make it look better.
Have a great weekend folks!
Shot these icicles on a tree in our front yard last night under street lighting. I had to bump up the ISO to 800 to achieve the bokeh.
It was real chilly last night (in sub zero) and I bet my neighbors were to think I am one crazy guy if they had spotted me in my front yard on a cold night 😉
We had winter storm for the past couple of days and it wasn’t as bad as the weatherman had predicted.
On Monday it was ice storm then late in the evening it was followed by snow. By the time the storm had passed through this AM, we had about 6″ of snow atop ice – weatherman predicted it will be somewhere between a foot to 20″ of snow. Sorry for the weatherman and I don’t really envy their job 😉
Anyway, I stepped outside few minutes this afternoon and took few shots of icicles.
Above is shot of icicles hanging from recycle cart. I really like the way this turned out.
That ‘s a red grape fruit…
As I was working on my shot this evening, I wan’t to try a different composition with this grapefruit – rather than the usual strait forward shot of a half cut grapefruit.
Then I thought may be I should capture different shapes – that’s how I ended up with this composition that shows a semicircle and a circular shape of grapefruit.
Had to add few bananas in the background just to pop out the reds on the grapefruit.
Another foodie shot 😉
Have been wanting to bake this tapioca + cheese bread for a while now and finally got to try it this morning. Turned out great and my daughter loved it.
But shooting this was a bit of a challenge due to unevenness in the puffed tops and any color contrast. So decided to go with high POV.
I think it turned out alright.
We had a warm weather this morning (in the 40s) with plenty of sunshine.
I happened to notice strong shadows this morning cast by sun light creeping through our bay windows in our dinning area and falling on my son’s bowling pin. So I decided to do a shoot of the shadows for today’s post.
Then I was debating if I have to seat them over a white board but later decided to go with the carpet to bring in some texture.
I told you it’s coming 😉
So redid my shot on Quinoa this evening and I’m quite satisfied with the outcome.
Picked a box of Quinoa on our ritual trip to Trader Joe’s last evening 😉
I was drawn by the multitude of colors and texture in this grain and decided to go with it as a subject for today’s post.
Overall, I am not pleased with this composition. I think it came out flat – had it been about a year ago I might have been pleased with this post. I may have to come back and try redoing this subject with a different composition in the next few days.
That’s a macro shot of exposed roots on our Arabian Jasmine plant. I like the cluttery feel in this shot.
I did find it interesting to see new shoots coming up from the exposed root system.
