Photo 365: Day 217 – TDS: Park (3)

Bonus picture for day:217 from visit to the park.

Photo 365: Day 217 – TDS: Bug

Todays daily shoot assignment: Insects are everywhere. Photograph a bug in your environment (no spiders – they’re arachnids).

I had trouble finding a bug in my backyard this evening. So I’m posting this shot that I took about a month ago.

Photo 365: Day 216 – TDS: Fabric

Todays daily shoot assignment: Fabric: we wear it, sleep on it, decorate with it. Make a photo of an interesting cloth design or texture.

Interesting assignment…because we see fabric with design and different texture everywhere 😉

So when I got back from work this evening went through the closet on deciding the fabric, design, and texture. Decided to go with my daughter’s silk dress for this assignment as I liked the color and craftsmanship on her dress .

To make this shot more interesting made some folds in her dress and shot this under window lighting with my Nikkor 60mm macro lens.

Photo 365: Day 215 – TDS: Weather

Todays daily shoot assignment: Weather affects us all. Make a photo of weather or something affected by weather today.

Decided to go with something affected by weather for TDS weather assignment. Mercury reading on the thermometer gets changed/affected by the change in weather, doesn’t it?

That’s my interpretation of something affected by weather 😉

Photo 365: Day 214 – TDS: Garden

Todays daily shoot assignment: How does your garden grow? Make a photo of something growing in your or someone else’s garden today.

Marigold is my subject for TDS: garden assignment.

Since I already had shot marigold for my 365 project, decided to go with a different POV to add some depth to the marigold bloom. Used Sigma 150mm lens for this shot. Shot this @f/11 for 1/13sec exposure.

Today is Twitter Tuesday.

Photo 365: Day 213 – TDS: Beauty

Todays daily shoot assignment: Beauty is all around us. Make a photo of some naturally occurring beauty in your area today.

Todays subject for TDS assignment is Hot Cayenne pepper grown in my backyard with sweet bell pepper in the background. Not sure if it’s a beauty but it’s 100% natural/organic 😉

I had a hard time setting composition for this shot as the pepper seems to be growing in the shape of a boat. When I downloaded my picture my composition ended up looking like a snapshot 🙂

Photo 365: Day 212 – TDS: Anti-Bokeh

Todays daily shoot assignment: Go anti-bokeh today. Use a large depth of field (higher aperture numbers) today to tell a story on multiple layers.

Another project I started this season – plant propagation from stem cuttings.

We have an Arabian Jasmine plant that we bought couple of years ago that has a wonderful smell and that’s one of my wife’ favorite plant. I tried with propagation last year with no luck – I think I started late in the fall and I don’t think the temperature was right in our basement (where we baby our tropical plants during winter season).

So I started early this year and I am already seeing new growth. Will have wait and see how my other plant propagation will do this season 😉

Photo 365: Day 212 – TDS: Portrait

Todays daily shoot assignment: Make a portrait of somebody today. It can be somebody you know or a stranger. Maybe even yourself.

Decided to bend the rules today for this post 😉

This wasn’t shot today. As family is still vacationing, decided to post  a portrait I did back in Spring. That’s my daughter working on her Math Bee.

Used window lighting for this shot and used Coffee Shop’ Chocolate B&W action in PP.

Photo 365: Day 211 – TDS: Pavement

Todays daily shoot assignment: Pavement comes in many flavors. Asphalt. Concrete. Bricks. Stones. Make a photo of some pavement you see today.

I think this was a tricky one (for me). Pavement is not my subject and I thought may be I should try capturing texture on the concrete pavement. My first attempt was to capture some hosta greens towards the left along with the texture. But I felt there is something missing towards the right.

So had my car parked in that spot and had this shot. I guess it’s all about boundaries in landscape photography.

Had this shot with Sigma 17-70mm zoom lens @f/2.8 at it’s wide end.

Applied the low angle technique that I learned from earlier TDS assignment for this shot.
