Photo 365: Day 200 – TDS Assignment: Wrinkled

Today’s daily shoot assignment: Ads promote removing wrinkles, but they often add character. Make a photo of something wrinkled, crinkled, or folded.

When I saw this assignment this AM what came to my mind was the Laughing Buddha – I know he doesn’t mind his wrinkles as he is happy and smiling all the time 🙂

Used the technique I learnt from yesterday’s TDS assignment (dreamy capture) for this shot. Used my Sigma zoom lens and shot this at its wide aperture setting to create sort of dream like effect.

And today is 200th day since I started this Photo 365 project – YAY!

Thanks everyone (that would be you) for visiting my blog post and taking time to add your wonderful comments to my blog posts – your comments are real supportive and gives me the inspiration to keep going on this project.

Also, congrats and good luck to my fellow photogs who are on their 200th day of this project as well.

We will keep going, as we are almost there.

Photo 365: Day 195 – Daily Shoot Assignment – Low point of view

Today’s daily shoot assignment: Make a photo from a low point of view. Go for a dramatic effect by changing the appearance of the size of your subject.

Decided to shoot ‘little people’ again for today’s photo post with low point of view. If you remember, I had shot this for day-132. Back then I had shot this from eye-level using 50mm prime lens.

For this post, got this shot from Noah’s eye level and used Sigma 17-70mm at it’s lower end. To make this composition interesting, placed the boat with animals in the background – it just looks ‘huge’ with low point of view 😉

Photo 365: Day 157: Creve Coeur Lake

I took this photo during my visit to the Creve Coeur Lake yesterday. As the Sun had just set and everyone were leaving the lake, I found this kid still fishing. It worked for my today’s photo post – today is an exception as I normally don’t like posting picture(s) from earlier days 😉

Photo 365: Day 155 – Dusk

I have been wanting to use my zoom lens for my 365 project and this evening decided to shoot with Sigma 17-70mm.

We have a library close home and by 7:30 PM on Fridays no one is there as the library closes early then – the library happens to be in a place that is a bit elevated and is a good spot for taking pictures. So went there this evening to capture some colors/clouds at dusk. It turned out pretty good.

I should try using my zoom lens more often.

Photo walk Chicago – Seinfeld

I like Seinfeld and really enjoy watching the re-re-runs 😉

This was my final shot from my photo walk session on day:1. There are 9 pictures in this series.

Photo walk Chicago – Stone Sculpture

Stone sculpture that I shot during my photo walk session.

Photo Walk Chicago – Trees in the park

I took this picture when I was returning back from my photo walk session. It is along the Michigan Ave.

It was real scenic and it was quite a contrast – on one side of the Michigan Ave. you see all the skyscrapers and the other side is all these scenic trees/parks.

Photo Walk Chicago – Trees

I shot this when returning back from my photo walk session. I believe this is in Millennium park.

Photo Walk Chicago – Cloud Gate aka “The Bean”

I spent quite a bit of my time during my photo walk looking at The Bean. It’s marvelous sculpture and you see the reflection of the sky and the surrounding buildings in the bean – I only wish that it was a sunny day with blue skies.

Look close (here and the next 2 bean posts and) and try spotting me 😉

Another view of the bean from a different angle…it looks almost like an egg. Look closer and you’ll see lots of birds atop the bean.
