Photo 365: Day 86 – Beets germination

I was pleasantly surprised this morning when I saw the beets germination – these pots were sitting in the tray atop the refrigerator (I had purposely seated them there  to keep them warm). Previously I had read that it takes about 7-14 days for them to germinate. In my case it took only 5 days. Only thing I could think of is because I had the seeds soaked in cold water for a day before sowing them.

I love the colors of the emerging plant. I bet the beets will taste good as well 😉

I seem to recall commenting on this before. Maybe that would explain why I’m drawn to it again. I do like it. The bright pink color is striking.
