Photo 365: Kalanchoe – macro capture

It’s been quiet some time now since I have posted macro shots to my project. So today decided to shoot Kalanchoe using my trusty Nikkor 60mm macro lens.

Took some time to decide on which one to shoot – as these flowers bloom in cluster. Liked the one here as they almost seem like identical twins 😉

Used late evening window lighting to light the flowers and shot this at f/18 @1.6sec exposure.  Since I shoot in RAW, used Adobe RAW to fix clarity, and vibrance.

Very nice photo. I’ve been meaning to tell you for some time, that I like you web site too. I enjoy how you make the background compliment the photo. That is such a nice touch.

I really need to get a macro lens. 🙂 I can shoot macro with my Lensbaby, but I also want a dedicated one too.

      James,

      Thanks for the complement.

Regarding your comment on web site background, kudos to wordpress duotone/montone theme. I used to use monotone theme sometime ago but recently switched to duotone. Those themes are for photo blogs and they have color algorithm that automatically picks the best colors to accent the photo post.

Although I have to caution – the exif data (which is part of duotone) is not accurate.
