Photo 365: Day 122 – Rain drops

We had some rain last night and I was able to shoot these rain drops on rose petals this morning.

Over the past couple of days I have been taking pictures before 7:00 AM in my yard and that seems to be a good time for taking pictures of blooms, buds, and such. I kind of feel the blooms are fresh and Sun light is quite optimal for taking pictures then. Will have to see how it works out in summer.

Wow, I love this one. The beautiful thing about your 365 project is that each photo you take is different and inspired and lovely. Most people who do these projects lose steam and imagination very quickly!
And you’re definitely making me want the macro lens more each day!

Thanks Irina for taking time to comment on my photo posts. I have to admit, I get inspired by all the wonderful comments from people like you who add in your few words besides looking at the photo posts.

On macro lens, I might get rid of 60mm micro Nikkor and go for a 105mm macro lens. Haven’t decided between Tokina/Nikon yet 😉

I like seeing the veins in the petals. Nice closeup.

I have the 105. It’s a really nice lens. All my macros are taken with that.

Thanks Judy. Regarding 105 lens, is yours a Nikon or is it other brand? I like the Nikon lens(es) (who doesn’t) but those are real expensive. It’s hard to decide if I need to spend the money on it when I know I can buy 2 other brand lenses(which would produce almost similar captures) for the price of a single Nikon lens 😉

Very nice, Sasi. I really need to get a dedicated macro lens. A couple of my lenses can do macro, but I find them not completely satisfactory. I too wonder If I need to spend the extra for the Nikon or if one of the others will do. I can’t decide. Also…I’m not sure if the 60mm or the 105mm would be best, all things considered.

another great macro shot, I really need to get myself a macro lens. Somehow there is always a next lens – does it ever end?
