Photo 365: Day 317 – Pingu
Pingu – that’s what my son call this little guy. For folks not familiar with this Pingu, it’s a Swedish Swiss show about a family of penguins at south pole.
With winter approaching, days are getting shorter and there isn’t much light when I return from work and I have to get a bit more creative for the next 45 days or so.
I noticed strong shadows of Pingu this evening and decided to shoot this for day:317
My friend, I think this coming few days before the year ends are going to be the hardest of the year. When I started I was terrible at finding subjects and terrible at photographing them. Around mid-year my skill level started to really pick up and at times it seemed I would never run out of things to photograph.
Now, I’m taking reasonable quality photos of everything, but burnout is starting to make it really hard to even bother myself about looking for a subject. It just isn’t much fun anymore and the quality of my subjects are declining. I hope it isn’t the same for you, but this one isn’t what I would call one of your best. Hope its just an anomaly and you aren’t facing the same problem I am.
I hear you. There were times when I want every shot/post has to be a masterpiece or sort of. But I’m guessing that passion isn’t there anymore…either I have too many things going on or may be I should just blame it on the season 😉
Will have to wait and see what’s in the offing.
I was thinking the same — definitely not one your best. But… oh well… it’s difficult when inspiration is in short supply. But there is always tomorrow. 😉
Poor Pingu! He’s Swiss, not Swedish 😉 Other than the army knife, clocks, watches and chocolate, he’s quite possibly their only other major export 😀
Good photo though, simple, and a nice shadow.
Thanks Nigel for pointing that out (Swiss/Swedish)
While perhaps not your best, it is an interesting subject! I have been somewhat dreading the rainy season here too, it’ll be interesting to see what we will come up with! Good luck my friend, I am sure we will do fine! 😀
Yup. My shots have definitely slowed down. By the time I leave work, I even miss the sunset. I definitelly need to take a creative pill.
I love that this photo is so monotonal but taken in colour.
