Cool texture shot. Its not easy to make clutter interesting, but I think you did a good job here. I have to say though it is the contrast between the visually sterile roots and the vibrant, living, green shoots that really make the image work for me.

The greens certainly caught my eye and I would agree with Nikhil that it also really makes the photo for me!
Before I read the explanation, I thought you were singling out new growth or something like that. That’s the focal point of the image for me.
Cool picture. I just watched the movie WallE yesterday and this reminds me of that movie! If you haven’t seen it, I highly suggest it. Pretty great message for a Disney movie geared towards kids!
