Quinoa
Picked a box of Quinoa on our ritual trip to Trader Joe’s last evening 😉
I was drawn by the multitude of colors and texture in this grain and decided to go with it as a subject for today’s post.
Overall, I am not pleased with this composition. I think it came out flat – had it been about a year ago I might have been pleased with this post. I may have to come back and try redoing this subject with a different composition in the next few days.
Mmm, quinoa! I quite like this (very bright in a way I love for food photography to be and which I can never achieve because our kitchen is poorly lit!) but I’m looking forward to seeing what else you might do with it.
Mmm. Red quinoa.
very clever presentation, lovely
As usual you are masterful with staging the composition. I would never have known how to present this is an engaging way. But I fear you are right about it looking flat. I think this is a result of the very even, soft light and the perspective. Sill an interesting photo though.
I see what you mean about flat, perhaps a lower PoV and raise some mounds? Either way, I really like this, lots to keep my short attention span eyes busy!
I think that compared to your other work, yes it might be considered flat, but that doesn’t make it a bad photo, on the contrary, it’s a very good photo!!!
Overall, I think the lighting is good. I believe it looks flat because quinoa are too small and need some kind of elevation. Maybe you could’ve put the quinoa in an interesting looking container with the spoon.
Very interesting. I had to look up what quinoa is (blush). You did a nice job setting this up.
