Perfect sunset

Weather wise it turned out to be a pretty good day. We had a sunny day and definitely felt like spring is here (finally).

That being said, sunset was pretty too…

I’ve heard so many photographers denounce sunset photos as being cliched, but once that sun sets pretty like this I don’t think any true photographer could resist. Bring them on, I got quite a few myself 🙂

I like the somewhat diagonal progression of the silhouettes in the frame. The only thing that I find distracting is the reflection off the car (although I think people with different preferences might like that element).

I agree with Nik about the sunset cliche but, disagree with the car (sorry Nik). I think it adds to the image by making the viewer (well, made me anyway) realize that there is more than just the car and house light viewable in the negative space (such as the siding of the house). Could also be my failing eyes as I get older… 😀 Great job Sasi.

Sasi, I love the colours! The simplicity here is great. I think the foreground elements of the car give it a more 3D feel, I don’t think it would be the same w/o them. Really nice capture on a really nice day! Spring is on the way!

I also like the light on the car — it would have been easy to black it out in photoshop but I think without it the photo would feel too heavy on the silhouette, and this way it’s got a little more depth!

Great shot Sasi! I too like the reflection off the car. Without it the bottom half of the image would be nothing but dead space, with the car it acts as an anchor and keeps my eye from just jumping to the upper left corner of the shot and staying there.
