Arangetram & Recitals
Photos that honor years of practice, from the brochure portraits to the final bow.
For classical dancers, vocalists and musicians getting ready for an Arangetram or recital, and the families who have been there for every class.
For your brochure portraits, I bring my portable studio to your home, so you can relax in your own space. On the day, I photograph the full performance.
Who I photograph
- Dancers preparing for their Arangetram, in Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi and other classical styles
- Vocalists and musicians with a recital coming up
- Families who want portraits for invitations, brochures and the walls at home
How it works
Tell me your date
The date and venue of your Arangetram or recital, and what you need: brochure portraits, the performance, or both.
I come to you
Costumes and poses are planned with your teacher. I set up my portable studio at your home and we shoot well ahead of your print deadline.
Your photos
Your edited gallery arrives in about a week. Need a couple of images sooner for the brochure? Rush delivery is available. Prints and albums come with select packages.
What to have ready
Costumes, jewelry and poses are planned with your teacher. My part is the backdrop: black or gray, chosen so it works with your brochure design. I’ll walk you through the options before the shoot.
- Every costume you want photographed, pressed and ready
- Your full jewelry, flowers and salangai
- Hair and makeup done stage-ready before I arrive
- For recital portraits, your instrument: tanpura, veena, violin or mridangam
- The poses and mudras planned with your teacher
Sessions & pricing
