Waiting…

Shot this Amtrak waiting area with colored glasses when I visited Amtrak station.

I think cool colored glasses along with silhouette of the person waiting adds a “mood” effect to this shot.

That building with a giant mural…take 2

Here is different POV of the mural with painted sculpture.

Personally I prefer this over my yesterday’s post. I think the blue sky along with the Hwy overpass adds a nice touch to this shot.

That building with a giant mural…

If you are from St. Louis area you should be able to recognize this giant mural shot with a painted sculpture of Peace..It’s a shot of Sheraton in downtown St. Louis.

I have passed this building umpteen times and have been wanting to take a shot of this mural. I had a chance to visit Amtrak station last evening and shot this from Civic Center MetroLink station.

Sliced

It’s one of those days that we photog encounter very often…got something up in the mind but when you try putting these together (or execute), you don’t like the way things turn out or at least you know it won’t work.

I had a foodie related shot in mind but it didn’t work out this morning. So I ended up doing a macro shot of sliced strawberry. Since I have already shot strawberry (day: 291, day: 39) for my 365 project, had to go for a different way of plating these for this shot.

Frozen lake Whetzel

Shot frozen lake Whetzel during my visit to the park last evening.

There is a bonus shot here – another shot of lake Whetzel from last fall season.

Lake Whetzel in fall season

Here is a shot of lake Whetzel with it’s fall glory – shot on October 15, 2010

Waiting…

Shot this at a park near home as I was waiting for my daughter to get back from her chess club meet. It was about 5pm and the Sun was just about to set.

I really like the shadow of the tree upon the melting snow/ice, warmth and glow of the evening sunlight in this sunset shot.

Math time

Shot this as my daughter was polishing her critical thinking math skills this evening.

Chicken drumstick curry

Another foodie shot…

There is something about food that I like to capture…may be it’s such a docile subject which doesn’t cringe or frown 😉

I was thinking about it on this line last week. My wife is a good cook and there is always something cooking, so how about I shoot her food for my blog. It makes me happy that I got a shot for the day and should make her happy that her food made it to the blog (besides feeding us).

It’s a win win situation, right?

Anyway, shot this using window lighting and used a foam board with aluminum foil stuck on it to direct the light on hard spots.

One of these days I need to pony up enough cash to buy continuous lighting,  so that I am not totally relying on free window lighting. Nothing wrong with natural window lighting (that I always like), it’s just that I don’t have to make my shoot before Mr. Sun goes down.

Another day…

When you’re uninspired and bored shoot an egg or eggs… 😉
