Photo 365: Day 295 – Yellow Rose
Another busy Sunday. Had to prep my tropical plants for winter this afternoon and by the time I got done, I was pretty worn out.
So went around my backyard and did a macro shot of this yellow rose.

Ah..pomegranate season is here 😉
I really like the bokeh in this shot – which I noticed only after downloading this image to my desktop.
Not much inspiration for today….
Shot this pumpkin which we had bought to carve…shot this using natural window lighting.
Bought a box of strawberries while shopping at Trader Joe’s yesterday and that’s the subject for today’s photo post.
Today’s daily shoot assignment: Paper can have texture, be folded, made into an airplane, or crumpled/torn. Make something with paper, then make a photo.
Not that I don’t trust the banking system anymore….had to withdraw some hard earned cash just for this shoot 😉
Today’s daily shoot assignment: Bathrooms are full of hard surfaces, textures, and personal implements. Find an inspiring photograph in a bathroom today.
Not an inspiring photograph for sure 😉
Today’s daily shoot assignment: Make a photograph that shows an interpretation of your favorite indulgence or guilty pleasure.
Indulgence: It has to be dark chocolate besides ice cream 😉
Got to love the bitterness of dark chocolate with high percentage of cocoa. I think I like it the best when the chocolate has about 75% of cocoa content.
Today’s daily shoot assignment: Hard shadows can emphasize texture and edges. Find a scene lit with hard shadows today and make a photo.
Weekdays are getting real busy these days with outside school activities for my daughter. I had about 30 minutes window this evening before leaving home to pick up my daughter. So had to come up with something real quick for TDS shot.
It turned out to be a rainy, and overcast day here in St. Louis – so I ended up doing my shot indoors.
Picked the simple subject of silverware and used window lighting for this shot. To produce harsh shadows used my daughter’s take home folder to block light on the subject and increased the exposure time.
I like the way it turned out for this post 🙂
Todays daily shoot assignment: Make a photograph of one of the least expensive things that you cherish.
Least expensive thing that I cherish – it has to be my $5.39 Coby head phones 😉
I am not an audiophile (although I do have a Sennheiser headphones) and my Coby headphone does a decent job. It’s not as crisp as Sennheiser headphones but for $5.39 it sounds great.
Todays daily shoot subject: Make a monochrome photograph today. Either use a single color subject/background or make it monochrome in post.
Another busy Wednesday and didn’t get to shoot for TDS assignment until about 7:00 PM this evening. I was planning on shooting something colorful (like leaves) but with limited light got to shoot something indoors and ended up doing a macro.
Can you identify this macro subject?
Macro challenge answer: It’s a dough blender with blades 😉
