Photo 365: Day 125 – Hub

It has been quite some time now since I have shot a subject with long exposure. So for today’s post I tried long exposure on catching the light from a USB hub.

Put off  all the lights in the room and had this USB hub powered by a laptop. I had set the hub sit on a black cardboard to avoid any reflection.

Then played with different exposure – 10sec, 15sec, 25sec, 30 sec. On anything past 15sec, I thought there was a “burn out” feel. So settled with 15sec exposure for today’s post.

    WOW! Amazing!

And if you would leave the USB cable out, it could even look like a spaceship and the holes are docking stations. 🙂

The only way to lit the hub was to use some device to draw power – so leaving out the USB cable wasn’t an option. Although it would have looked cool without it. Thanks Vampie.

Ah ok, I have a USB hub with a cable on and with 4 extra ports.
Maybe i need to try to take a shot of it. 🙂
Hopefully it has lights. don’t remember.

Very interesting shot. Maybe you could have covered the usb cord with a black cloth and then it would really look like a spaceship like Vampie said.

That looks awesome! I actually like the usb cord, the way it’s lit and the shadows are very nice.
