Photo 365: Day 182 – Daily Shoot: Construction

Today’ daily shoot challenge: Construction seems to be perpetual: streets, sidewalks, buildings. Make a photo of something under construction today.

Construction – that sounds easy, right? That’s what I thought so too.

Took my P&S camera during my afternoon walk at work and took couple of shots of building constructions – I wasn’t quite pleased at the outcome. So on my way from work took a detour and visited this tiny two way road close to home which has been closed for re-pavement. It was quite sunny and had revisit later this evening to shoot for today’s challenge.

I should have taken my polarizing filter – the sky looked flat. So had to use couple of PS actions to bring out the subject.

I am starting to like this Daily Shoot challenge – keeps me stay focused.

The post processing is great but what I really like is the fact that you have a church in the background but not completely in focus with an “road closed” sign. Great job Sasi.
I also have been enjoying the daily shoot. It makes me think “outside the box.”

I like this composition and the unfocused background is perfect.
Also the vignette and the red only color visible made this photograph really interesing.

Wes, There was a heavy machinery right behind the sign. I tried different compositions and I like this one better than the others. I want to bring in the Church in this shot and specifically want to have it composed with it in the upper corner.

      Thanks for your comment/suggestion.

I like this! The antique look of the colors & the vignette in the background against the dark red in the sign is very nice. I like the church (?) along the skyline. Great composition.
I’ll have to check out this dailyshoot website, its easy to run out of ideas. 🙂

I wasn’t able to find anything relating to construction. But you chose well. This is a great shot. I like the selective color and the pp.

I’m not a fan of selective color but you’ve done an awesome job with this one. I really like the feel of it. Makes me curious to know what’s beyond the barrier.
