I took this shot almost a year ago when we were visiting family in Chicago. It was real cold winter night in Chicago and went for a night time photo walk in Michigan Avenue braving the cold weather.
As I was going through my Lightroom catalog this evening, came across this shot and surprised to see that this shot never saw the limelight π
Thought this shot is befitting for this holiday season.
Spotted this mailbox while I took a walk with my friend in a neighborhood close home. Though I don’t like the idea of taking pictures from someone’s yard, this was hard to resist π
Time flies when you have good company. That was the case this past weekend. I had my school friends visiting us from Chicago and we were pretty busy entertaining friends.
Took the friend’s kids to a park close home and as we were getting ready to leave, one of the kid’s mom in the park stopped by and asked if she could offer the kids herΒ Halloween themed cupcakes. As the kids settled down to enjoy their treat, I shot this – initially I thought this shot is going to be a snapshot but it ended to be narrative shot when I saw this in my desktop.
I like the way the kids are looking at other’s cupcake (although all are the same) and my little one trying to say something. Ah kids π
Lately I am leaning towards narrative photography π
I like my shots to be unstaged, more natural, and those seems to tell a story. Realized a better place to start it is at home – with kids there always seems to be plenty of moments to explore in narrative photography.
Shot this as my kids were busy with their reading/writing. Used 50mm Nikon @f/5.6 for this shot.
Nothing creative for this week π
Another foodie themed shot for week: 17
Unlike my last foodie themed shot (I used 60mm macro lens for that shot), I went with my 50mm prime for this melon shot and overall satisfied with this composition.
Time flies when you’re busy..that’s seems to be the case these days. I don’t have visited the blogs that I’ve been following regularly and my Google Reader seems to be filling up quickly π
Had a chance to visit a friend yesterday and shot his son engrossed in his game boy during my visit. Used window lighting for this quick shot.
Where did the time go?Β Last was a busy week and didn’t have much time to shoot. Actually I did shoot but thought none wasn’t blog worthy π
Shot these spindles on a recent visit to the park close home. I was debating on the title for this post as it would fit for simplicity, monochrome, white etc. But decided to go with spindles…
We had a perfect weather for BBQ this noon – with the considerable summer rain yesterday, humidity has dropped considerably and we didn’t feel the heat much today.
Anyway, it’s been quite some time now since I last posted a foodie related shot. With the perfect summer day, I want to capture a shot that depicts the essence of summer food.
Did some prep work this morning for this foodie shot – from getting the plates setup in place, to wrapping the plates with aluminum foil and such. Despite all the prep work, I’m not really satisfied with the outcome. I need to practice more with my (available) lighting and overall setup…
A classic perspective shot from my recent visit to Chicago area.Β We stayed with the family during our trip and this is shot of the hallway just outside the place we stayed.
As soon as I saw this hallway I made a note to self Β to shoot this hallway during my stay there. I had to venture out when the kids went to bed so that I could shoot this classic perspective shot π
