Photo 365: Day 261 – TDS: Something Soft
Today’s daily shoot assignment: Make a photograph of something that is soft, or at least looks that way. Convince the viewer of the softness.
Something that’s soft…my original thought when I saw this assignment this AM was to use my soft focus filter to achieve the soft effect. But having used that couple of times before in this 365 project decided to go something with soft texture.
Soft texture…how about soft Tofu? Unfortunately we didn’t buy Tofu during our weekly shopping for this week. Then I thought about soft/creamy garlic/herb cheese that we bought couple of days ago…
So had these plated along with some crackers for this shot. Used 50mm prime @f/1.4 to get a creamy DOF.
A significant proportion of your photos are of food, or involve food in some way. What this does it to make me extraordinarily curious to know what your cooking tastes like 🙂
Seriously though, I think you are about as good at this type of photography as it is possible to get, and this latest shot is no exception.
While I am always curious to see how you will interpret the daily assignment and magically whip up something extraordinary out of stuff in your house I hope you don’t mind me saying that I would really like to see more from you, outside your house. When you have gone out and taken photos, I tend to find them very interesting. Hope you don’t mind me saying, but I’d really like to see you do more outside shots.
Such an interesting photograph.
Nice work! Once again, you have made me hungry! Great take on the assignment.
Nikhil has made a really interesting comment. I often feel that I get stuck in that “rut” of doing the same type over and over (off camera flash for me lately). I don’t think it’s a bad thing at all Sasi, I really enjoy (although, I may not comment on every photo) waiting to see your interpretation of TDS assignments, really!
Whew, having said that, garlic/herb cheese, ohhh, yum! I love how you always pay attention to the tiny details, such as having one of your crackers with cheese on it! Great job Sasi!
Another awesome interpretation to the challenge and it involves food!
Great job. Love the attention to detail that you put into your food shots. Great job!
Great job as usual Sasi. I understand Nikhil’s point, but sometimes it just isn’t easy to get outside and shoot. Something seems to always crop up.
I really like this – there’s a lot here to catch the eye, but the DOF simplifies the shot nicely.
Maybe the cheese could be a little less out of focus, but it is a nice composition with a terrific result.
Nicely done Sasi, nicely done! lots of colour but without confusion!
love those little cheeses… nice shot of it too. I like how you set this one up.
As long as I stay focused on the cheese it’s great…
Otherwise, it hurts my eyes!
Great emphasis though!
