Bakery

It was quite an interesting evening. My original plan was to go to a park near home for a quick shot, but found out the park being closed this evening.

So went to a bakery nearby for a coffee. Here is where things got interesting.

I found a gentleman in the store with a Nikon D3000 as I was enjoying my coffee. As I came out and started taking pictures of the bakery, I saw him come out and wanting to know what I was doing there. I ended up talking to him briefly and we were talking about camera models. Then I told him about the sensor dust issue on my D70. Turns out there is reputed store in town that does a good job with sensor cleaning.

Will have to try taking my camera to this store sometime next week. That being said, I am going to hang on to my D70. Had this happened prior to recession, I would have had a totally different opinion or take on this 😉

Regarding this shot, I like the way this turned out. My thought was to capture the mood in the bakery as seen through the windows and I think I did OK.

Its an interesting shot. I am fond of shapes in photos, and this provides lots to keep me happy. I like the liveliness of the scene also, there is great vibrancy to the scene through the window (although I do feel them man walking towards the door is a bit of a distraction). I think a closer crop of the window and the car immediately in front would have been interesting too.

It looks to be a very inviting little establishment! I love it when I meet other photog’s and we strike up a conversation we probably never would have had it not been the fact we were carrying cameras! 😀
