Finally we got our pumpkin carved today 😉
My daughter helped pick the template and then my wife and I spent some time this morning carving Jack O’ Lantern. So it was a team work…
Bonus shot for day:301
Another day with lack of inspiration…
Did a quick shot of my backyard when the Sun was just about to set.
Todays daily shoot assignment: Today’s color is green. Make a photo of a green subject today and post it.
Well it’s not a green subject. But it’s green energy for sure 😉
As I was driving to Chicago this afternoon to pick up family who are returning back from their vacation tomorrow, I shot this wind farm close to Pontiac, IL.
I have to admit, I shot this from a moving car – but would never try that again. Since I’m travelling light, shot this in JPEG mode and later edited in online Picnik website to bring out the colors.
Todays daily shoot assignment: Make a portrait of somebody today. It can be somebody you know or a stranger. Maybe even yourself.
Decided to bend the rules today for this post 😉
This wasn’t shot today. As family is still vacationing, decided to post a portrait I did back in Spring. That’s my daughter working on her Math Bee.
Used window lighting for this shot and used Coffee Shop’ Chocolate B&W action in PP.
Today’s daily shoot assignment: Corners are everywhere. Make a photo of an interesting corner today, capturing its light and angles.
As I was in the quest for interesting corner, I found those ones on our fireplace mantel to be interesting.
I did multiple shots without flash and bounced flash. Later, after downloading found those without shadows (using bounced flash) to be boring and lacking any depth. I know shadows are something that photogs try avoiding in their shots.
But decided to go one with the harsh shadows, as they provide a nice depth that brings out the details on the woodwork on the mantel 😉
Today’s daily shoot assignment: Today’s theme is the color blue. Blue sky. Blue plate. Blue M&Ms. Make a photo of something blue and post it today.
For today’s daily shoot assignment, I want to shoot the blue sky but to make it a bit more interesting decided to add a blue subject – that’s how I ended up shooting my tennis racket against the blue sky.
My tennis racket haven’t seen daylight in years now…until this evening 😉
No it’s not Photoshop layers that we all photographers know…LOL
My daughter has this Melissa & Doug easel and it has a spindle where the paper rolls sits. I think it might have been quite some time now since she has last used the paper for drawing and the paper roll has started curling.
As I noticed the paper curl last week, I thought it could be shot for an interesting abstract photo post.
So this evening I had to get underneath the easel to take this shot. As it was relatively darker beneath the easel, I had to bump up the ISO to 800 – hence the grain….here’s where D70 fails 🙁
But I am quite satisfied with today’s photo post.
For today’s photo post(s) I used a soft focus filter to create a dream-like effect on these cherries. As it was too bright and I didn’t have a neutral density filter to bring down the light, used a polarizer filer – as I know it brings down the light by 2 f:stops. Had to use a white reflector board to lighten up the shadows.
There is one more photo post for day 152 –> here.
