Photo 365: Day 101 – Fortune cookie saying V1

We were pleasantly surprised to find this fortune cookie saying strip on Friday – apparently my wife had saved this from about 5+ years ago 😉

You could see it’s old by the look of the strip.

This is the version I liked. My wife thought this was boring and look the other version here which has similar composition but with added florals 😉

Photo 365: Day 100 – 100

100 days since I started my Photo 365 project. Seems like yesterday (not really) since I posted my first photo post for my 365 project. I have to admit though, it’s not been easy going on this project. There are times I didn’t had any inspiration and even thought may be I should quit. Somehow I have kept it going on this so far…

So to mark 100 days on my project, decided to shoot these glow in the dark sticks that I picked from the Dollar store this morning. I had trouble setting this up though…so its not a great capture, but its a milestone.

Thanks for visiting/commenting and tomorrow is another day 😉

Photo 365: Day 99 – Needle ‘N Thread

Memories are stitched with love~Author Unknown

I had some time to kill this evening and ended up spending my “free” time shooting Needle ‘N Thread.

Had the needle nailed to a chopping board and used my daughter’s note book as a backdrop. Shot this setup with Nikkor 60mm macro @f/8 for 1/3s exposure.

Photo 365: Kalanchoe – macro capture

It’s been quiet some time now since I have posted macro shots to my project. So today decided to shoot Kalanchoe using my trusty Nikkor 60mm macro lens.

Took some time to decide on which one to shoot – as these flowers bloom in cluster. Liked the one here as they almost seem like identical twins 😉

Used late evening window lighting to light the flowers and shot this at f/18 @1.6sec exposure.  Since I shoot in RAW, used Adobe RAW to fix clarity, and vibrance.

Photo 365: Day 97 – Say Almonds!

Wednesday is a busy day for us. Had to take my daughter for her math class and when I get back there isn’t much inspiration for taking photos. So I was undecided on what to shoot for today’s photo post. But as I was packing these Almonds for my snack for work, I saw this interesting pattern in the jar/box these Almonds were packed. So had it shot with long exposure using my Nikkor 60mm macro lens to bring out the details. To keep the plastic jar/box out of the picture, had to do a tight composition.

I like the way it turned out 😉

Photo 365: Day 96 – Kaleidoscope Tulip

Here is a capture of Kaleidoscope Tulip that had bloomed in our front yard.

I wasn’t ready for acrobatics this evening (read that as I wasn’t ready to bend to capture this in its natural setting) as this was on a spot close to the garage door and other bushes. Further it was real windy this evening. So had it clipped and shot this indoor with a backdrop.

To make this composition interesting, I decided to add a leaf – further my wife felt the tulip was lonely 😉

Photo 365: Day 95 – I hear ice-cream truck

We had a wonderful weather here in St. Louis today and we even heard the ice-cream truck pass by our community this evening.

I think my little one was playing with his toys and as soon as he heard the truck pass by, he was on his heals and was looking for the truck looking through the windows shades by our dining area. I already had my camera ready as I was planning on taking pictures this evening and was able to capture this moment.

Photo 365: Day 94 – Daffodils in full bloom

A week ago I had posted Daffodil in my photo blog post titled Simplicity. Back then I had it cut and shot it indoors with a backdrop (link here).

For today’s post I took the picture of the bloom in its natural setting. Flowers are better captured in their natural setting – that’s my personal opinion 😉

Photo 365: Day 94 – Hyacinth

That’s a capture of Hyacinth in my front yard. Had to literally lie on my driveway to capture this (as this was low lying flower bloom). Used my  Manfrotto tripod to capture this bloom which could be set as close to the ground – it was quite a task though 😉

Photo 365: Day 93 – I can do anything? (bonus picture)

That’s my 2year old tying to imitate his big sister. Surely he seems to have an attitude that he can do everything and anything that his sister does 😉

I am guessing you teach one kid and the other will catch-up…
