Photo 365: Day 266 – TDS: Indulgence

Today’s daily shoot assignment: Make a photograph that shows an interpretation of your favorite indulgence or guilty pleasure.

Indulgence: It has to be dark chocolate besides ice cream ๐Ÿ˜‰

Got to love the bitterness of dark chocolate with high percentage of cocoa. I think I like it the best when the chocolate has about 75% of cocoa content.

Photo 365: Day 263 – TDS: Frame

No TDS assignment for me today. Clutter was the subject for TDS assignment and it isn’t my favorite. Who likes clutter any way ๐Ÿ˜‰
Had about 15 minutes this evening for my daily shoot and shot the light coming in through the windows in my daughter’s room – had this shot from my office room. As there wasn’t sufficient light, had to bump up the ISO to 1600.

Photo 365: Day 262 – TDS: Mirror

Today’s daily shoot assignment: Use a mirror as part of a composition in a photograph today. Show yourself in the image if you’d like!

Had a chance to take my little boy to Faust Park this evening while my wife took my daughter for her singing lesson this evening.

As we were driving around the park, I saw another photog taking pictures of ducks in the near by pond and shot this looking through the rear view mirror.

I really like the way it turned out.

Also there is a bonus shot for TDS: Mirror assignment –> here.

Photo 365: Day 262 – TDS: Mirror (bonus)

Bonus shot for TDS: Mirror assignment.

Shot this on our way to my daughter’s singing lesson this evening. As my wife was driving, I get to relax and play with my camera ๐Ÿ˜‰

As I knew we will be driving over the Boone’s Crossing bridge, I had quite some time to get the exposure and timing right.

I like the symmetry and reflection in this shot.

Photo 365: Day 261 – TDS: Something Soft

Today’s daily shoot assignment: Make a photograph of something that is soft, or at least looks that way. Convince the viewer of the softness.

Something that’s soft…my original thought when I saw this assignment this AM was to use my soft focus filter to achieve the soft effect. But having used that couple of times before in this 365 project decided to go something with soft texture.

Soft texture…how about soft Tofu? Unfortunately we didn’t buy Tofu during our weekly shopping for this week. Then I thought about soft/creamy garlic/herb cheese that we bought couple of days ago…

So had these plated along with some crackers for this shot. Used 50mm prime @f/1.4 to get a creamy DOF.

Photo 365: Day 260 – TDS: Pocket

Today’s daily shoot assignment: Some carry a talisman, amulet, “lucky charm”, or just a comforting thing in our pocket. What do you carry?

What do I carry in my pocket?

No talisman, amulet, or “lucky charm” for me….Nothing interesting ๐Ÿ˜‰

I had fun with this shot though. I really liked setting this up for TDS assignment shot. Used couple of white boards to fill in the shadows and used natural window lighting for this shot.

Photo 365: Day 259 – TDS: Complementary Objects

Today’s daily shoot assignment: Make a photo of two complementary objects arranged in a pleasing composition, one large and one small.

Three is better that two, right? How about three complementary objects ๐Ÿ˜‰

We love cast iron pan and that’s the subject for TDS: Complementary Objects assignment.

Photo 365: TDS: Foliage

Today’s daily shoot assignment: Showcase the beauty of living foliage! Make a photo of a single leaf or an entire “greenscape” today.

Hmm..it’s definitely not a living foliage. I didn’t realize it has to be “living” foliage until this evening when I was getting ready to post. Well, that’s my shot for TDS: Foliage assignment ๐Ÿ˜‰

Had this shot while waiting for my daughter to return from her chess club meet.

Saw this fallen leaf atop my car roof, and shot this by holding the leaf against the Sun’s rays (falling through the tree branches) with one hand while holding/shooting with the camera on the other hand.

Photo 365: Day 257 – TDS: Meal

Today’s daily shoot assignment: Preparing or eating food is a rhythmic part of life. Make a photo of a meal you prepared and ate today.

Well it’s not a homemade pizza..not a Digiorno either ๐Ÿ˜‰

It’s a Home Run frozen pizza from Costco. That’s what was for dinner tonight.

I had few minutes for this shot before enjoying this cheesy pizza with the family.

Photo 365: Day 256 – TDS: Hard Shadows

Today’s daily shoot assignment: Hard shadows can emphasize texture and edges. Find a scene lit with hard shadows today and make a photo.

Weekdays are getting real busy these days with outside schoolย activities for my daughter. I had about 30 minutes window this evening before leaving home to pick up my daughter. So had to come up with something real quick for TDS shot.

It turned out to be a rainy, and overcast day here in St. Louis – so I ended up doing my shot indoors.

Picked the simple subject of silverware and used window lighting for this shot. To produce harsh shadows used my daughter’s take home folder to block light on the subject and increased the exposure time.

I like the way it turned out for this post ๐Ÿ™‚
