Photo 365: Day 104 – Crack-a-Jack

Read that as Crack-a-AppleJack 😉

It’s a fun post…Got home late (as Wednesday being my daughter Math class day that I had to chauffeur) and was in a rush to shoot something before the losing sunlight. So thought I should do something creative with the monkey wrench. Trying to find something that would fit within its jaws was the hardest part – it would have been nice if we had some cherry tomatoes around.

Only thing colorful that I could find was AppleJacks…so here is Crack-a-AppleJack 😉

Photo 365: Day 103 – Thank you internet

Ah I hit one of those days when you feel you don’t have anything else to shoot 🙁

Got home from work and took bunch of pictures and didn’t like any. That’s when I got the feeling that I didn’t have anything else to shoot. You could relate this to the feeling when you surf aimlessly and at some point think you’ve reached the end of the internet 😉

Anyway, as I was going through these downloaded pictures I saw this modem cable by my bookcase and it struck me ‘why not do a macro capture on modem cable?’

So took my camera with Nikkor 60mm macro lens and started shooting again. I really like the way this macro capture turned out.

Also this capture made me think how thankful we should be for the internet. I heard on NPR yesterday that on a recent survey on Internet Vs TV, people choose Internet over TV. Surely internet seem to be have become an indispensable part of life style. So I Thank you Internet!

Photo 365: Day 102 – I feel fresh already

It’s a macro post for Monday 😉

Bought this cheap’o Aquafresh toothpaste from Dollar store with the idea of doing a macro capture. My original idea was to capture the paste with its tubing but that didn’t workout very well. So my wife suggested may be I should dab it in a black cardboard and try shooting it. Voila!

I like the way it turned out 😉

Photo 365: Day 101 – Fortune cookie saying V2

We were pleasantly surprised to find this fortune cookie saying strip on Friday – apparently my wife had saved this from about 5+ years ago ;)

You could see it’s old by the look of the strip.

This is the version that my wife liked. Look at the other version here which I liked – btw..she thought it was quite boring 😉

Perhaps I should do a poll to see which my blog viewers like… 😉

Photo 365: Day 100 – 100

100 days since I started my Photo 365 project. Seems like yesterday (not really) since I posted my first photo post for my 365 project. I have to admit though, it’s not been easy going on this project. There are times I didn’t had any inspiration and even thought may be I should quit. Somehow I have kept it going on this so far…

So to mark 100 days on my project, decided to shoot these glow in the dark sticks that I picked from the Dollar store this morning. I had trouble setting this up though…so its not a great capture, but its a milestone.

Thanks for visiting/commenting and tomorrow is another day 😉

Photo 365: Day 99 – Needle ‘N Thread

Memories are stitched with love~Author Unknown

I had some time to kill this evening and ended up spending my “free” time shooting Needle ‘N Thread.

Had the needle nailed to a chopping board and used my daughter’s note book as a backdrop. Shot this setup with Nikkor 60mm macro @f/8 for 1/3s exposure.

Photo 365: Kalanchoe – macro capture

It’s been quiet some time now since I have posted macro shots to my project. So today decided to shoot Kalanchoe using my trusty Nikkor 60mm macro lens.

Took some time to decide on which one to shoot – as these flowers bloom in cluster. Liked the one here as they almost seem like identical twins 😉

Used late evening window lighting to light the flowers and shot this at f/18 @1.6sec exposure.  Since I shoot in RAW, used Adobe RAW to fix clarity, and vibrance.

Photo 365: Day 97 – Say Almonds!

Wednesday is a busy day for us. Had to take my daughter for her math class and when I get back there isn’t much inspiration for taking photos. So I was undecided on what to shoot for today’s photo post. But as I was packing these Almonds for my snack for work, I saw this interesting pattern in the jar/box these Almonds were packed. So had it shot with long exposure using my Nikkor 60mm macro lens to bring out the details. To keep the plastic jar/box out of the picture, had to do a tight composition.

I like the way it turned out 😉

Photo 365: Day 96 – Kaleidoscope Tulip

Here is a capture of Kaleidoscope Tulip that had bloomed in our front yard.

I wasn’t ready for acrobatics this evening (read that as I wasn’t ready to bend to capture this in its natural setting) as this was on a spot close to the garage door and other bushes. Further it was real windy this evening. So had it clipped and shot this indoor with a backdrop.

To make this composition interesting, I decided to add a leaf – further my wife felt the tulip was lonely 😉
