Math time

Shot this as my daughter was polishing her critical thinking math skills this evening.

Photo 365: Day 253 – Water tower and tree line

Another backyard shot for my 365 project.

Shot this about 30 minutes before sunset this evening.

Photo 365: Day 289 – Abstract

Abstract is the theme for my today’s photo post.

I got inspired by Nikhil’s recent abstract post and want to recreate his work – he may call it plagiarization 😉

Today’s was a really windy day and shooting plantain leaf was nearly impossible outside. So I ended up shooting the plantain’s trunk.

Photo 365: Day 285 – Flame

Another quick one for day:285

When there is nothing else to shoot, shoot a macro 😉

That’s what happened this evening. I am out of time this evening and when I got home from work, saw my wife cooking and thought I should try a macro shot of flame.

I really like the neon like glow around the edges.

Photo 365: Day 280 – Mums macro

I haven’t done a macro shot in a long time. So decided to go with macro shot mums that were in full bloom in our garden.

In case if you haven’t noticed, there seems to be quite a bit of “spots” in my shots lately – seems to be poor case of dust in my sensor. Any suggestion on how to clean them…I know I can send it to Nikon and have it cleaned, but I haven’t decided to go that route yet.

Photo 365: Day 272 – TDS:Simplicity

Today’s daily shoot assignment: Simplicity is economy. Make the simplest photograph you can today. Take things out until you can’t remove anything else.

Another busy Friday 😉

I took some time off from work and tried staying away from my computer – no email or Google reader.

Spent few minutes this afternoon for TDS:Simplicity assignment shot. I will have to catch up on photo blogs that I routinely visit later this weekend.

Photo 365: Day 252 – TDS: Glass

Todays daily shoot assignment: Plastic or glass, make a photo of a bottle or grouping of bottles today and post it.

Glass is my choice for TDS assignment.

One of our friend had gifted these beautiful, hand painted glass long time ago. When I saw the TDS assignment this morning, I knew my subject for todays post. Further it’s an opportunity to use my Sigma macro lens 😉

Shot this using Sigma 150mm macro lens @f/5.6 using window lighting. I love the colors/shapes of these glass pieces.

Photo 365: Day 237 – TDS:Metallic

Todays daily shoot assignment: Make a photograph of something metallic today. Put the emphasis on texture and light.

Metallic…How about faucet? Turns out these faucets are non-metallic – I figured out after shooting this for TDS assignment. But decided to go with this shot 😉

I wasn’t really planning on a self-portrait – hence, want to stay away from this shinny faucet so that I don’t end up shooting a reflection of me and ending up with a selfi.

Had this shot with Sigma 150mm and used circular polarizer filter to eliminate glare.

Those smudges underneath the faucet – blame it on me…I did a poor job of fixing/plumbing this faucet 😉

Photo 365: Day 232 – Papaya seeds: macro

Macro shot of papaya seeds.

Used Sigma 150mm macro lens @f/5.6 for this macro shot.

Photo 365: Day 226 – TDS: Plant

Todays daily shoot assignment: Make a photograph of a plant today. It can be a small one in a pot, a big one in the park, or a tree in a forest.

That’s a shot of our bell pepper plant in a container. Our container vegetable gardening plants didn’t do very well this year. I am guessing the containers were too shallow for these plants.

Perhaps next year we will plan on doing our vegetable garden in our backyard.
