Photo 365: Day 355 – Birds in flight

Took my son for a walk in our neighborhood this evening as we had weather in the 40s this evening.

As we were getting back home (just after sunset) shot these birds in flight. I like the way this shot turned out – there is a bit of motion and negative space in this shot. Didn’t have to do much processing either besides the crop and RAW to JPEG conversion.

Photo 365: Day 354 – Portrait

That’s my daughter hiding behind her Fairy reading book for this portrait. She was a willing model for this shot as I promised her I won’t shoot her face 😉

Had to use bounced flash lighting for this shot as it was already dark by the time I got to shoot this evening.

Photo 365: Day 253 – Water tower and tree line

Another backyard shot for my 365 project.

Shot this about 30 minutes before sunset this evening.

Photo 365: Day 352 – Urban Clutter

Late post for day:352

With holidays just around the corner, we have gotten real busy and makes me wonder where did all the time go today?

Anyway, shot this when we visited library this evening. As the Sun was beginning to set, I shot this electric pole and wires (aka clutter).  What drew my attention was the patten formed by the crossing wires.

Photo 365: Day 351 – Abstract

A quick abstract shot for day:351 before I head out with my daughter for her chess club meet.

Happy weekend to my blog followers.

Photo 365: Day 350 – Waiting

An early post for day:350…yes 350 and not 348

We had freezing rain last evening and the road conditions were real bad this morning. So kids got a snow day to stay home and I opted to stay home rather than driving to work. I am one of those early rider who likes getting to work before sunrise and most of the side roads aren’t salted/cleared when I start driving to work early in the wee hours.

So as I was working this noon from my home office , I saw the snow truck clearing the icy road through my office window.  And then there was my little one standing by the window and watching curiously for the snow truck to pass by – he gets real excited about trucks and anything that makes noise 😉

I had to be real quick to taking this shot before losing the moment. 50mm lens attached to body comes in handy at such situations.

In case if you haven’t noticed, I went up from day 348 to 350. I realized that I messed up the days count in August and didn’t want to go back and fix my wordpress post titles. So a quick and dirty approach to get the days fixed. That being said, just 15 days more to go.

Makes me wonder am I the only one who started counting the days to 365 (?)

Note: Take a look at Brhum’s comment (6th comment). He has some suggestion for 365 photogs…just in case if you haven’t decided on what you want to do after ending this marathon 365 photo project 😉

Photo 365: Day 347 – RSS Reader

It’s one of those days when I went rummaging for the subject – that haven’t happened that often in my 365 project 😉

As I got back home there was just a bit of natural light available and as I was trying to find what I want to shoot, what got my attention was my iTouch.

Then came the question of where do I set my focusing point –  how about the Byline RSS reader app that I use most of the time.

If you haven’t switched to Google Reader yet you have to read the blog post titled Google Reader that Nikhil wrote sometime ago.

Think of RSS Reader as an aggregator that brings your bookmarked website changes to you. Or to put it in a simple way, when you bookmark a website – you go look for changes. With RSS reader you subscribe to a website and the changes come to you via the Reader.

I am long time user of Google Reader (about 6+ years now) and I strongly recommend Google Reader for keeping track of your favorite website changes. Also if you have one of those i* device(s), I do recommend Byline app for offline/online browsing. You will need your Google Reader to subscribe to your favorite websites and then use Byline to keep track of changes.

So, a bit of geeky stuff along with a relevant photo shot for day:347 🙂

Photo 365: Day 346 – Angry Egg

Meet Angry Egg…akin to Angry Bird 😉

About a week ago when I did the portrait of my wife using iTouch app iLuminator, I had in mind to do something similar with negative space theme.

As I was thinking about the subject for negative space theme what popped up in my mind was an egg.

To make this as a fun post, my wife did some art work on this egg and then I shot this by having the egg rest on a black cardboard – a little putty magic did the trick to make this egg sit/stand on the cardboard. Again this was illuminated by iLuminator app.

Photo 365: Day 345 – Laughing Buddha

Used a couple of tea light candles to lit this laughing Buddha statue – one right behind the statue (I think I should have added one more) and other one in the front.

Shot this @f/5.6 for a 10sec exposure.

Photo 365: Day 344 – Scarecrow?

Scarecrow? Not really…

That’s my son enjoying snow this morning. I used intentional blur technique to achieve this effect.
