Today’s daily shoot assignment:ย The warmth of wood takes on many shapes and forms. Make a photograph of something made of wood today.
Had some time this evening to take my little boy to a park close home. Shot this supporting frame in one of shelter in the park while my boy was enjoying his slide/swing.
I kind of like it – for the fact that it has geometric shapes/angles and there is a symmetry formed by the frames.
Today’s daily shoot assignment: Make a photograph of something that is soft, or at least looks that way. Convince the viewer of the softness.
Something that’s soft…my original thought when I saw this assignment this AM was to use my soft focus filter to achieve the soft effect. But having used that couple of times before in this 365 project decided to go something with soft texture.
Soft texture…how about soft Tofu? Unfortunately we didn’t buy Tofu during our weekly shopping for this week. Then I thought about soft/creamy garlic/herb cheese that we bought couple of days ago…
So had these plated along with some crackers for this shot. Used 50mm prime @f/1.4 to get a creamy DOF.
Today’s daily shoot assignment: Some carry a talisman, amulet, “lucky charm”, or just a comforting thing in our pocket. What do you carry?

No talisman, amulet, or “lucky charm” for me….Nothing interesting ๐
I had fun with this shot though. I really liked setting this up for TDS assignment shot. Used couple of white boards to fill in the shadows and used natural window lighting for this shot.
Today’s daily shoot assignment: Make a photo of two complementary objects arranged in a pleasing composition, one large and one small.
Three is better that two, right? How about three complementary objects ๐

Today’s daily shoot assignment: Make a photograph of a path, sidewalk, trail, or road today and post it. Lead our eye through the scene.
I waited too long for today’s shot. By the time I got to do the shot of the sidewalk, there wasn’t mucht light. So had to bump up the ISO, then on PS raw – had to increase the exposure to +1.75 and ended up with a grainy shot ๐
Lesson learnt – don’t wait until the 11th hour for your shot.
Todays daily shoot assignment: Find a strong series of horizontal lines or elements and make a photograph of it today.
Does power lines make horizontal lines? Perhaps not, they’re suspended such a way they sag during summer and contract during winter months ๐
Anyway, power lines are my subject for TDS:Horizontal Lines assignment.
Shot this while waiting for my daughter to return from her chess club meet this evening. The place hosting the chess club is located close to the highway and this spot should present wonderful photo opps in the near future.
It was a rainy/overcast day – hence the sky looks flat. Used Nikon 50mm at f/1.4 for this shot.

How about the number of rows on Connect Four game? It’s 6 rows…that’s my interpretation of TDS:6 assignment.
To make this composition a bit more interesting, I opened up Four-in-a-row game on my Ubuntu desktop and had this as a backdrop for this shot.

Todays daily shoot assignment: Make a photograph of something cold today. Ice cubes, frosty beverages, or the freezer aisle at the grocery store.
Another lazy Sunday – nothing accomplished (besides daughter’s school work) and not feeling guilty about it ๐
Just after lunch, my 2yr old went for hisย ice cream cone treat and I thought I will make few shots with TDS:Cold assignment in mind. Shot few pictures with Nikon 50mm @f/1.4 ย with focus set on the ice cream cone. As you might have experienced it’s hard taking picture of a 2yr old – they are full of energy and definitely f/1.4 helps a tad bit.
Out of 25+ shots I fired, I liked this one a lot.
